UK interest rates are poised to fall but the picture in the US remains far from certain

The UK Consumer Prices Index (CPI) rose by just 0.3% more than the Bank of England’s 2% target in the 12 months to April, its lowest growth rate for almost 3 years, leading many to speculate that the Bank of England will cut interest rates at its next meeting on 20 June.
